A Smarter Solution for Brace Odor
Orthopedic braces, splints, and casts are essential for healing, but after just a few days, they start to stink. It’s a sour, sweaty smell that sticks around no matter how clean you try to stay.
Dr. David Mayor, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, saw this happen over and over again. After 14 years in practice and thousands of patient conversations, it became clear: there was no practical solution for brace odor, only vinegar sprays, baking soda, and uncomfortable workarounds that didn’t last.
BraceGuard was created to change lives.
This probiotic-powered deodorizing spray is the first of its kind, specifically designed for use on orthopedic gear. Instead of masking smells, it breaks down odor-causing organic matter using natural enzymes.
Simply spray it on, let it dry, and put your brace back on.
No rinsing. No soaking. No interruptions to your day.
Designed in Michigan and made in the USA with internationally sourced ingredients, BraceGuard is a cleaner, faster, smarter way to stay fresh while you recover.
Meet Dr. David Mayor
Dr. David Mayor is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over 14 years of experience, specializing in hand and upper-extremity care. He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Southern California, completed a five-year orthopedic surgery residency in Flint, Michigan, and completed a one-year hand fellowship in Louisville, Kentucky.
Since starting in practice in 2017, Dr. Mayor has treated thousands of patients; many with orthopedic braces to help during recovery. Over time, many of them brought up the same issue: the smell. It was embarrassing, frustrating and had no good solution.
That everyday problem led to a new idea: create something simple and effective to help patients feel clean and confident while they heal.
When he’s not helping patients, Dr. Mayor enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and camping with his wife and three children.
